San Juan County Training Day

Community First Project spent time in Utah working with the San Juan County police department to enhance their capabilities and proficiency.  The C1P team designed a customized dynamic range day to help work through the fundamental principles of shooting, moving, and communicating.  Officers were provided instruction, including pistol and rifle marksmanship fundamentals, shooting and weapons manipulation while on the move, and weapons system transitions under duress.

The remainder of our training with this police department focused on safely entering buildings during an active shooter situation.  Using realistic scenario-based exercises, including live role players and simulated ammunition, the C1P team conducted over a dozen simulated exercises training over 20 Utah police officers.  The instruction focused on dynamic and deliberate clearance fundamentals, threat recognition, de-escalation of force, and command and control during high-threat scenarios.
